It’s been one year i haven’t post anything at this blog. i have been really busy that i forgotten to share my views on everything that happened to the world nowadays. i discovered so many great bands and great tunes throughout the whole year. some are new and some were tunes from the 80’s and 90’s.. sometimes i just wonder how was it in the 80’s. 80’s music is awesome! it made me want to travel through time and relive the moments. i grew up listening to pop music and the crazy years of BOY BANDS. I’m embarrassed by the fact that i was crazy about them in my school days. the invasion of boy bands. i was OBSESSED. but time passed by me so fast that i have become more mature in life because of the songs i listened to. i am 21 years old and learning more about life. music is the one that drives me forward through the hard times and also the good times of my life.

The HIGHLIGHTS of 2009

1. 2009 is a year full of great music and great movies. i would definitely confirm that 500 days of Summer is one of the greatest indie movie of 2009. The soundtrack is unbelievably insanely goooood.. Directed by the famous Marc Webb. IT’S AN AWESOME DEBUT FROM HIM by the way. i can’t stop listening to them until now. it is the best soundtrack after Juno. Intelligent song choices.

Black Lips – Bad Kids

2. Vampire weekend will be releasing their new album, Contra next year on January and i can’t wait for it! Their single, Cousins is amazingly powerful and awesomeeeee… Ezra you are impossibly handsome and you got style!  i wish you are my cousin.. haha LOL!

Vampire Weekend – Cousins

3. Matt & Kim is a dynamic duo. Energetic and full of fun and youth. i just love them. Their song make me smile and jumping up and down like a kid having a sugar rush of ADD. And really.. i don’t pick up my phone in the daylight. who does? haha 😛

Matt & Kim – Daylight

4. it’s a good year for The Temper Trap. making their way to the soundtrack of 500 Days of Summer, the song Sweet Disposition is truly sweet  and I’m impressed by the vocals and i truly love their album, Conditions. My favourite tracks are Fools, Down river, and Fader. Please go and Don’t STOP making good music!

Temper Trap – Down river

5. JULIAN CASABLANCAS. This guy keep me wanting for more. I miss him so much since The Strokes is on a hiatus and I am glad that he finally come up with a solo! It’s about time dude! Phrazes for the Young is totally great and pact with the sound of synth and i’ll rate it a 9 out of 10! Every tracks seems flawless and all i can say is Julian is Magnifique!.

Julian Casablancas – Out of the Blue

6. Doves. all i could say is they are addictive. Kingdom of Rust is a great album and i just love it. the lyrics are real and stung me like a bee. i know i sounded cheesy but what the heck… Long Live British Bands!

Doves – Kingdom Of Rust

it’s been so long i haven’t post anything here… I have been busy + busy + assignments + play + sleep + eat + drama = no time at all for BLOGGING. Damn. The ‘Merchant of Venice’ play is near. I have to be prepared and alert even though I am just the so called “Flower Girl”. Flower reminds me of my awkward holiday. Last holiday my friend invited me to a wedding in a quite “remote” place. i agreed to follow her because of the free food. I repeat .. FREE FOOD. I love Free Food. Everything that is free is good for your emotional condition. We went there by bus and stopped by a nowhere road. EVERYTHING AROUND ME WAS PURE WOODS. I didn’t see any house. So . basically its in the woods somewhere. there was no technology. no bed. no proper toilet. no ONE i know. I don’t understand a single thing that comes out of their mouth. no language. BUT. FREE FOOD. So it remind me of CARS and TELEPHONES. T.E.C.H.N.O.L.O.G.Y.

SO I just sat there with some songs playing in my eardrums.

        DevotchKa

VS

Vampire Weekend

Today I am going to give the chance for Devotchka and Vampire Weekend to fight!!.. Who Will Win? Devotchka is an all american band from Colorado. I first hear their songs from an indie film starring Steve Carrell , Little Miss Sunshine. I thought the soundtrack was great and decided to find out which band was playing in the soundtrack. Hearing the name of the band makes me think that they are some canadian indie rock band.. But I was wrong. They are Americans. That’s right. American punk and Folk roots. They originally a backing band for burlesque shows! and even toured with Dita Von Teese. Nick Urata’s vocals are great and their instruments sounded even better.

VAMPIRE WEEKEND……. I love these guys. New York City fresh indie band. They even toured with my favorite band The Shins!!.. i loooove The Shins..Vampire weekend’s fresh tunes makes my brain active and my head swoon to the music.. they are also quite good looking and the name Vampire Weekend just suits them perfectly.

So Who Will Win? I leave that question for you to answer. 🙂

Vampire Weekend – M79 [mp3]

Devotchka – How It Ends [mp3]

Vampire Weekend – Oxford Comma [mp3]

Devotchka – Transliterator [mp3]

Sunday.its Sunday..I love saturdays more than sundays..Because the next day of Sunday is Monday.. Monday is just like any ordinary days.. Not as special as Saturdays and definitely not as good as Fridays…monday is categorized as weekdays.. weekdays are boring.. Don’t you agree with me? Sunday morning is great but when it turns to night it sucks to think that tomorrow is MONDAY! Sunday sounds like sundae but sundae taste better and i love sundae but not Sunday :-p

My Sunday Playlist:
