It’s been one year i haven’t post anything at this blog. i have been really busy that i forgotten to share my views on everything that happened to the world nowadays. i discovered so many great bands and great tunes throughout the whole year. some are new and some were tunes from the 80’s and 90’s.. sometimes i just wonder how was it in the 80’s. 80’s music is awesome! it made me want to travel through time and relive the moments. i grew up listening to pop music and the crazy years of BOY BANDS. I’m embarrassed by the fact that i was crazy about them in my school days. the invasion of boy bands. i was OBSESSED. but time passed by me so fast that i have become more mature in life because of the songs i listened to. i am 21 years old and learning more about life. music is the one that drives me forward through the hard times and also the good times of my life.
The HIGHLIGHTS of 2009
1. 2009 is a year full of great music and great movies. i would definitely confirm that 500 days of Summer is one of the greatest indie movie of 2009. The soundtrack is unbelievably insanely goooood.. Directed by the famous Marc Webb. IT’S AN AWESOME DEBUT FROM HIM by the way. i can’t stop listening to them until now. it is the best soundtrack after Juno. Intelligent song choices.
2. Vampire weekend will be releasing their new album, Contra next year on January and i can’t wait for it! Their single, Cousins is amazingly powerful and awesomeeeee… Ezra you are impossibly handsome and you got style! i wish you are my cousin.. haha LOL!
3. Matt & Kim is a dynamic duo. Energetic and full of fun and youth. i just love them. Their song make me smile and jumping up and down like a kid having a sugar rush of ADD. And really.. i don’t pick up my phone in the daylight. who does? haha 😛
4. it’s a good year for The Temper Trap. making their way to the soundtrack of 500 Days of Summer, the song Sweet Disposition is truly sweet and I’m impressed by the vocals and i truly love their album, Conditions. My favourite tracks are Fools, Down river, and Fader. Please go and Don’t STOP making good music!
5. JULIAN CASABLANCAS. This guy keep me wanting for more. I miss him so much since The Strokes is on a hiatus and I am glad that he finally come up with a solo! It’s about time dude! Phrazes for the Young is totally great and pact with the sound of synth and i’ll rate it a 9 out of 10! Every tracks seems flawless and all i can say is Julian is Magnifique!.
Julian Casablancas – Out of the Blue
6. Doves. all i could say is they are addictive. Kingdom of Rust is a great album and i just love it. the lyrics are real and stung me like a bee. i know i sounded cheesy but what the heck… Long Live British Bands!
